About me
Janet Weaver is a Project Coordinator at Juniper Gardens Children’s Project in the Life Span Institute at the University of Kansas. She is the coordinator for the Peer Interventions for Preschoolers with Autism (PIPA) project, a five-year, multi-site study focused on adapting an evidenced-based, peer-mediated social communication intervention to meet the individual needs of autistic preschoolers with limited or no spoken language. Janet holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Emporia State University and received her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Webster University. Before taking on her current role, she worked in community mental health in Toledo, Ohio where she administered psychological testing and provided evidence-based therapeutic interventions to children ages 3-22 diagnosed with autism, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, anxiety, depression, and trauma. https://juniper.ku.edu/
